Goblins in the Ginnel

pconcertina

Goblins in the Ginnel is born out of a desire to listen to great live bands in local and intimate venues – so that's the aim! Booking bands new and old that will ensure an unmissable evening's entertainment on your doorstep.

So what kind of music can you expect? Well the slant is definitely towards the folk genre, but don't be put off – take a listen, folk bands may not be as you imagine and each one is different too! For each series of gigs, there's a named charity to whom all of the profits (and any donations) from the series of gigs will be donated - so the more of you that come along, the more money that goes to the charity :-)

This series begins 17th September 2011, just as the nights are beginning to think about drawing in. The following gigs will be in Oct, Nov, Jan, Feb, and March to keep you going through those winter months. For this series the profits/donations will be going to our local Multiple Sclerosis Society – so do come along to support the music and the local charity too!

Previous season's bands Chris Sherburn & Denny Bartley, Blackbeard's Tea Party, Twelfth Day, Megson, Hannah James & Sam Sweeney, John Jones (Oyster Band) and the Reluctant Ramblers, Samson & Delilah.

Where?

We'll be at the Globe in Glossop – they have a well established music venue upstairs and it fits the Goblins in the Ginnel criteria perfectly! It might be snug on all those sell out gigs, but make new friends and enjoy the good ales, good company and great music.

There's a bar upstairs to keep y'self replenished and if y fancy arriving a little earlier the chick pea curry is a must (and a bargain too!) So now it's even better good music, good beer and good food – all that's left to do is buy your tickets.

See you there :-)
