BRENDAN POWER - 'INTERNATIONAL HARMONICA PLAYER OF THE YEAR 2011'

Tim Edey is one of the finest multi-instrumental players of his generation in the worldwide Celtic music scene. A virtuoso on both acoustic guitar and button accordion, Tim's incredible musical ear and total technical command allow him to play the most demanding instrumentals and improvise freely in any style you throw at him. His great gifts have been recognised by the top names in the Celtic music scene, and led to touring/recording with Christy Moore, The Chieftains, Sharon Shannon, Lunasa, Michael McGoldrick, Seamus Begley, Mary Black, Altan and Capercaillie - to name a few.

UK based Kiwi harmonica player and composer Brendan Power is acknowledged by many as one of the most versatile and creative harp players around today. Voted International Harmonica Player of the Year 2011, he has recorded with the likes of Kate Bush, Sting, Van Morrison, Paul Young, James Galway, John Williams, Paul Brady, Altan, and Artie McGlynn. A fluent improviser in jazz/blues/pop styles, Brendan is also an expert player of Irish traditional music, with an All-Ireland title to his name. He has recorded 15 solo CDs and works for Suzuki Musical Instrument Corp as their International Harmonica Specialist. He sings and composes original songs, and often throws in some nifty beatboxing too.

Nancy Kerr & JamesFagan One of the most established and respected duos on the folk scene, Nancy Kerr and James Fagan are winners of the 2011 BBC Radio 2 Folk Award for Best Duo (and previous winners of 2003 Best Duo and 2000 Horizon Award.) As well as being great exponents of their instruments (fiddle, viola and guitar-bouzouki) both are regarded as fine and influential singers. 2010 marked the 15th year of this electrifying duo. In that time they have toured full-time and headlined festivals throughout the UK, Ireland, Europe, Australia, Japan and Canada. Wherever they play, Kerr and Fagan make new friends and fans, as their love of live performance is tangible and affirming. Consistently great live shows and five highly respected albums, plus their recent collaborations with Robert Harbron and The Melrose Quartet, have cemented their reputation as one of the classiest acts in acoustic music.
